The disadvantage of catchall email accounts is that spammers will reach you much easier than if you have only a set few email accounts set up on your web server. IMAP offers the advantage of being quicker to skim through email and delete spam, and is more portable because all emails can be accessed from any computer via the internet. If you travel alot and do not sync, you may want to configure IMAP for your emails also. |

Your account comes setup with POP3 capabilities. The main difference between the POP3 and IMAP is that a POP3 email account removes email from the server after it has been downloaded by your email client, whereas an IMAP email account keeps the email stored on the web server.
Most cusotmers use POP3 since they use Outlook and it is also faster to read email from your own computer than from online.

You can use the DNS File MX Entry Maintenance function to change where a domain's email is delivered to. This allows you to have the email from one domain delivered to another domain. Changing your MX entry will change your sites DNS record for MX. |

Auto Responders allow you to send an automatic response to anyone who sends an email your email account. When an email is sent to your account, the response that you have created will be sent back to the person who send you the email. This feature will not prevent your email from being delivered. This feature can be useful for informing customers that you are on vacation, or providing useful information when a customer submits a question or order.

A web host will often provide a set number of email accounts, and unlimited email addresses attached to those accounts. Ensure your web hosting company provides at least as many email accounts as you have staff. |

A mailing list can simplify sending messages to a large group of people. You can add a group of email addresses to a mailing list to avoid typing in those addresses each time a mailing is sent. This can be very useful when sending newsletters or other updates to large groups of people. |
